Survival of the Fittest!

Everyone asks me how work is going out here and it really is going well.  I always comment that there are far fewer distractions vs. being at the office.  Today was an exception!  I had enough of those damn Mud Dobber birds and nixed their ever growing nest today.  It was really making a mess and they were making me crazy fussing at each other outside the window all the time.  For all you animal lovers out there they war only about 5 days into their build, it was not complete and there were no babies yet!  You saw on previous posts what it started out as well...

I should have a taken a picture of my window before we cleaned it!  Here is the after...

Nice and Clean!

Don't worry.  No one was home when we bulldozed it and they were squatters.

And for the second distraction.  A small creature (you decide what it is as I am not sure) was scurrying around right outside my window.  I watched a little mouse hopping across the yard and walked out to find him hiding in the grass (he was...yes was...small and the grass is tall).  I left him be (I mean was I really going to touch him?!) and went back to work, but the little creature kept popping on and off the deck and in and out of the bushes.  As it circled closer and closer to the mouse's hiding spot (really...a hiding spot in the grass?) I realized he was hunting.  The mouse lost.  The last picture I could get was them wrestling in the grass, but the small creature scurried off with a mouthful of mouse.  He was just too quick for me to get a shot.

And ever present were my geese!!

Tullis is doing a month long soccer thing so we are headed out!  5:30 soccer in 77 degree weather.  NICE!!
